Winter Season
The ski resort of Claviere, is part of the skiing area of the Voie Lactee and was host to the first international ski competitions in the Haute Vallee of Suse. It was the training centre for the Winter Olympics in Saint Moritz in 1927 and for the Turin winter Olympics in 2006. The altitude and its position render the snow conditions excellent and make Claviere an important winter ski resort.
From Claviere you can ski between six other ski resorts which are linked by a network of modern and rapid ski lifts covering 400 km of slopes suitable for all levels of competence all included with the beautiful Voie Lactee.
The ski instructors in the Claviere Ski Schools who will be happy to accompany you on the best ski slopes of the resort. These include the Serra Granet, La Coche, the Gimont red slope and the Plan del sole black slope in the middle which links up with the resort of Montgenevre.
Ice skating is available near Claviere, in Montgenevre, as well as Heliski, rambling on snow shoes and training for cross country skiing on a purpose-built 5 km circuit which links Claviere to its neighbouring resort of Montgenevre. It is also possible to continue a further 7 kilometres to the Bois de Sestriere making a total trek of 12 kilometres.
